Health and Safety

Health and Safety is an area that world wide events takes extremely seriously and realises the need for Public Safety.  We compile a specific site method statement with associated risk assessments based on all the market operations.   Actions are then put in place to remove these associated risks in accordance with the latest Health and Safety Legislation. An independent safety consultant visits our sites on a regular basis to assist world wide events in maintaining and improving health and safety standards.

Waste Removal

Market site waste and by products are properly managed and disposed of to reduce the risk of pollution from materials such as surplus refuse materials and possible cooking by product waste. Practices such as waste disposal, recycling, proper material handling, spill prevention and cleanup measures reduce the possibility of cross contaminated and prevent rodent infestation.

Waste management practices are used to locate refuse piles, remove materials that may be displaced by rainfall and to prevent spills and leaks from cooking materials that could be improperly stored.

The following steps are taken to ensure proper storage and disposal of all Market site wastes:

  • Designated waste collection areas on site that do not encroach on the market operation
  • The use of Waste containers with lids so they can be covered before periods of rain and wherever possible waste containers are stored in a covered area
  • Scheduled collections are implemented to prevent a build up of waste
  • All spillages of substances are cleaned up immediately
  • Organic waste produced is disposed of conventionally
  • Cardboard and Plastic waste is separated into individual cages and recycled
  • Waste management is monitored on market days to ensure that all vendors are operating in accordance with best practices for storing and disposing of waste by products arising from their activities.
